Public Relations Company’s Founder and Namesake to Remain as Chairman
BOSTON, July 28, 2026—Regan Communications Group (RCG), New England’s largest privately-held strategic communications firm and the seventh largest in the United States, is proud to announce that Christian Nakkashian has been promoted to President of Operations. Nakkashian will assume daily leadership of the firm, while the company’s founder and current president and chief executive officer, George K. Regan Jr., will remain as chairman.
“Having depended on Christian as I have these past four years, first as my chief of staff and then as our general manager, I know how much Christian’s leadership, professionalism, and concern for his colleagues and our clients have benefited our company,” Regan said. “His many talents belie his young age, and he enjoys enormous credibility among our many clients, news outlets, and the corporate, political, and non-profit leaders who drive this region forward. He will continue to be, a source of insight, strategy, stability, and wise counsel for us, and I could not be more excited about the future of this company under his direction.”
As President of Operations, Nakkashian will oversee all aspects of the company’s administration, business strategy, financials, partnerships, and staffing, and will oversee day-to-day management decisions. He joined RCG in 2023 after serving in the Baker-Polito Administration. Former Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito was among those who praised Nakkashian’s promotion, noting that “his capabilities managing people and challenging circumstances will serve Regan Communications well into the future.”
Regan, who survived a serious illness earlier this year, said stepping back from daily oversight will allow him to spend more time with his wife, Elizabeth, and their infant son, George 4th, who was born in April. When contemplating who he would name president, numerous trusted friends and advisors agreed with him that Nakkashian should be the choice, Regan said.
“To me, trust is very important, and I trust Christian like a brother,” Regan said.
Nakkashian expressed gratitude for the faith placed in him as steward of the company Regan founded in Boston in 1984 and nurtured over the subsequent four decades. RCG, from its headquarters on the North End waterfront, now has offices and personnel on Cape Cod and in Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York City, South Carolina, and Washington, D.C.
“Anyone in Boston who knows anything about business and public relations knows how much passion and care George has poured into this company for more than four decades, and so I’m tremendously humbled by the trust he’s placed in me to help lead its continued growth and success,” Nakkashian said.. At the end of the day, this company is about people—the clients we serve and the superb team of professionals who make up Regan Communications. I’m deeply grateful for, and honored by, the opportunity to work alongside every one of these remarkable people and support their efforts to achieve the shared success that is a hallmark of this company.”
Nakkashian joined RCG as Chief of Staff in 2023 after serving in several leadership positions in Massachusetts state government, including Executive Assistant to former Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito. In that role, which he assumed in 2021, Nakkashian managed the Lieutenant Governor’s schedule, assisted with logistical planning for meetings and events, and developed and maintained strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including Executive Office Secretariats, elected officials, corporate leaders, and business owners.
“I am so pleased to see Christian step up to lead Regan Communications in its next chapter,” Polito said. “He is a trusted steward of the good will Regan Communications has created over many years.” She also congratulated Regan for his “incredible success and contributions to our community.”
Prior to becoming close aide to Polito, Nakkashian served as the Legislative Liaison for the state Department of Family and Medical Leave, and before that was the Director of Governor Charlie Baker’s Office of Constituent Services. He began his career on the campaign trail, working on Baker and Polito’s successful 2018 re-election effort. He is a graduate of Endicott College.
Before founding RCG, Regan served as press secretary to late Boston Mayor Kevin White and communications director for the City of Boston. He also served as a media advisor to presidential candidates.
