The stars were back in Providence in early August for the 4th Annual Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic! With three solid days of events, it was all hands on deck for Providence Reganites, as we juggled celebrities, special guests, and media, as well as the glamorous job of registering golfers during torrential downpours!
The Celebrity Classic kicked-off Sunday night with the first annual Celebrity All Star Comedy Explosion, and it was a huge success! People traveled from all over the country to see some of the funniest men in the business – George Lopez, Cedric the Entertainer, Sinbad and Chris Tucker – take the stage at the Providence Performing Arts Center. The four comedians had the audience in hysterics, including Reganites Lisa Doucet- Albert and Kate Murphy pictured here with fellow audience members, Johnny Gill and Sugar Ray Leonard.
Day Two began with the 2nd Annual Celebrity Softball Classic at McCoy Stadium. The RCG team spent the morning coordinating celebrity interviews, live-tweeting, and keeping the event on schedule! Magic Johnson, the honorary co-host of the Classic, was even treated to an early birthday celebration on the field, complete with a beautiful cake and a rendition of “Happy Birthday” sung by musicians and fans alike, giving us THE photo op of the day.
Day Three was meant to be the headliner – the Celebrity Golf Tournament. Unfortunately, it happened to be the worst rainstorm of the summer! Despite the torrential downpours, the celebs were troopers and a few even hit the links in the rain! 
After everyone dried off and freshened up, it was time for the closing Charity Champions Dinner Gala where everyone could enjoy delicious food and dance the night away. All the incredible musicians who were in attendance took the stage and sang all the memorable songs they are famous for! We especially enjoyed listening to Philip Bailey from Earth Wind and Fire sing “September” and Jeffrey Osborne perform the famous “On The Wing of Love.”
Overall, the event was a huge success! We were able to secure top-tier coverage for our client, triple their social media following and keep everything running smoothly! We are always so happy to be a part of the event and publicize all the great work Jeffrey Osborne and his team does for Rhode Island. Did we mention over $250,000 was raised to support initiatives to bring music and arts back to public school systems and those that provide safe, enriching environments and services for families and children in need?! Talk about a fun-filled few days you can feelgood about!
