Regan Communications Group (RCG) New York was tasked with raising brand awareness and generating media coverage surrounding New Jersey-based Suburban Propane’s 90th year in business, and their status as one of the top propane suppliers in the United States. RCG developed and implemented a comprehensive media relations and events campaign that ran throughout the year, culminating with a 9/11 Memorial Event held in Jersey City by Suburban Propane’s national partners at the American Red Cross, the ringing of the Closing Bell at the New York Stock Exchange and a 90th anniversary event at the company’s Whippany, NJ headquarters. RCG developed media advisories, event listings and dedicated media pitches leading up to each event. We also scheduled and facilitated interviews for CEO, Michael Stivala.

Media coverage was secured at the local and national levels and stories appeared in LP Gas, New Jersey Business, the Hanover Eagle and the New Jersey Herald. We secured TV coverage from outlets including FOX Business Network, Cheddar TV, CNBC, NJTV, News 12 New Jersey and FiOS1 – New Jersey.

As part of our planning efforts for Suburban Propane’s 90th anniversary event, RCG secured local dignitary speakers including: Hanover Township Mayor, Ronald F. Francioli, New Jersey Historical Society Executive Director, Steven Tettamanti and Chief of the Whippany Fire Department, Joseph J. Cortright. Additionally, RCG coordinated the unveiling of an American flag flown over the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., sent as a congratulatory gift from Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen.
