What happens when Patriots defensive end Rob Ninkovich calls up his friends and asks them to play in a ping pong tournament? A huge turnout and one of the most exciting interactive charitable events in Boston – and Regan was right in the middle of the action!
On Monday, March 18, Blazing Paddles hosted the inaugural “Ninko’s Ping Pong Tournament” which benefited the Celebrities for Charity Foundation, an organization founded in 1997 by former Bruins goaltender Cleon Daskalakis and Bruins Hall of Fame defenseman Ray Bourque.
The event showcased celebrity teams taking on various Boston based companies in a “Locker Room vs. Board Room” showdown. Among Boston athletes who competed in the tournament were: Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Danny Amendola, Steven Gostkowski, Tuukka Rask, Milan Lucic, Dennis Seidenberg, Dustin Pedroia, Leon Powe, Dana Barros, Chandler Jones, Patrick Chung, Ray Bourque, Teal Bunbury, and Charlie Davies.

The players were surrounded by friends, family, and cheering fans as they volleyed between rounds. But in the end it all came down to Bruins players Milan Lucic and Dennis Seidenberg, who were defeated by “Team Engergi” in the final round.

The event, presented by Adaptive Communications, raised over $110,000 for the Celebrities for Charity Foundation. We can’t wait to see what next year brings.
