As PR professionals, we have a lot to love about our jobs. Unlike traditional 9-5 jobs, we’re able to get out into the community for client events, see the backstage workings at TV stations, and spend a great deal of time exploring social media. Sometimes, it doesn’t even feel like we’re working!

Here are some eventful happenings Team Providence has had recently while on the clock.

Ribbon Cutting at MojoTech

Team Providence recently began working with MojoTech, a software design and development agency. MojoTech has expanded to new office space in the heart of downtown Providence, and we were on hand to staff their ribbon cutting ceremony. Despite heavy snow accumulation and a nearby car fire, Rhode Island’s entire Congressional delegation, along with the Mayor of Providence and other elected officials, made it to the event. While we photographed the event we also had the chance to listen to the speaking program, including remarks from MojoTech’s CEO, and expand our understanding of software design and programming.

Cooking with Dunkin’ Donuts

It’s no secret that the Providence office loves our coffee, sometimes making multiple caffeine runs per day. We always love working on the Dunkin’ Donuts account, from publicizing the franchisees’ charity work to sending out social media messages about new products. For Valentine’s Day, we went to the Rhode Show studios at WPRI-TV for a live cooking segment with Dunkin’ Donuts Chef Heidi, who taught the show hosts (and us) how to prepare decadent fondue and cupcakes using menu items. We even got samples of the finished product and got to enjoy some delicious heart-shaped donuts.

Monster Jam

Just this past weekend, Feld Entertainment’s Monster Jam roared into the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. We were able to score great media coverage for advance events, such as the Dirt Dump, which prepared the floor of the arena with 10,000 pounds of locally-sourced dirt, and truck displays with crowd-favorites like Thrasher and Grave Digger. While coordinating interviews and staffing the events, we watched the awe of fans meeting their idols and taking in the sight of monster trucks up close. We also got to be fans ourselves, experiencing the excitement of the live shows. We can’t wait until Monster Jam rolls into town next year!
