It’s no secret that as New Englanders, we love our Dunkin’. But today, on #IcedCoffeeDay2014, your coffee order is doing more than providing a caffeine boost. In participating Rhode Island and Bristol County, MA restaurants, 50 cents from every iced coffee purchased will be donated to Hasbro Children’s Hospital!
Since the creation of Iced Coffee Day in 2010, this annual promotion has generated more than $630,000 for Hasbro’s ChildrenHospital, resulting in tangible improvements to the facility, including the creation and production of activity books for patients and a new play area in the pediatric ambulatory clinic. Last year’s proceeds went towards the creation of a Dunkin’ Donuts Family Room on the 6th floor of the hospital, a space which gives families a “home away from home” during a child’s extended stay at the hospital. This year, proceeds will help launch a new neighborhood and family safety program in Rhode Island and Bristol County, MA.
This year, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees started Iced Coffee Day with a visit to some patients at Hasbro – along with some very special guests! New England Patriots Wide Receiver Julian Edelman was on-site to meet some of his biggest fans, sign autographs, and encourage participation in Iced Coffee Day. Edelman was joined by Patriots mascot Pat the Patriot, and Patriots cheerleader Brittany to make the day even more special.
