One of the pleasures of what we do is the opportunity to work with so many interesting clients are committed to making a difference for the better. One of those organizations is the Friends of Manatee Lagoon (FOML), a non-profit in Riviera Beach, Fla., dedicated to enhancing and expanding manatee protection efforts.
The FOML, which is assisted by Regan’s Florida and Charleston, S.C., offices, works with environmental partners to conduct research and provide education that will lead to healthier coastal ecosystems.
We were grateful for the opportunity to promote their latest partnership, an alliance with Manatee Coffee, a family-owned Florida company. The partnership will help the FOML educate the public about the critical role seagrass plays in a manatee’s well-being and train volunteers in creating sea grass mats to that will be planted in the Lake Worth Lagoon to support this vital Florida habitat.
Seagrass restoration is crucial for manatees because seagrass beds are their primary food source. When seagrass habitats degrade due to pollution, boat damage or climate change, it can lead to a reduction in food for manatees and other species.
