Franciscan Children’s Dancing in the Rain Dinner Gala

#Spring has sprung in Boston! Each year the beginning of spring marks the end of winter, but it also marks the kick-off of another season- “gala season!” This year we kicked off “gala season” at Franciscan Children’s Dancing in the Rain Dinner Gala on March 4th at the InterContinental Boston. While some have come to expect these fancy galas to have the standard chicken entree and mediocre entertainment, Franciscan blew us away. Like everything they do, this event exceeded attendee exceptions and proved to be inspirational for everyone in the room. From the atmosphere to the meal to the performances, everything was well planned out to every final detail. Former patients and parents were featured sharing their thoughts on how the hospital changed their lives, an exciting live auction kept everyone on the edge of their seats, and local dance troupe Urbanity stole the show with their upbeat performance. We were particularly moved by the recipient of this year’s #Courageous Kid Award, sixteen-year old Devin Means. Devin has been a student at the Kennedy Day School for many years and has made significant progress since becoming enrolled in the school. Devin’s hard work and determination despite the multiple challenges he faces were more than enough to move the audience to tears. Us included! The night was a beautiful tribute to the wonderful work the hospital does day in and day out to ensure #soeverykidcan. We are honored and proud to work with Franciscan Children’s.
