Here in the Lowcountry, we are lucky when it comes to the weather. Rarely do we dip below freezing and that chill in the air doesn’t usually hit us until November. After the scorching heat of the summer, folks are ready to come out from under the shade and play. That means tons of events and buzz all fall long!
Here is what we are looking forward to during Fall in Charleston:
What better way to kick off the busy season than with food & wine? The 2017 Charleston Food + Wine Festival is kicking off with a launch party this week at the Citadel’s College Park Field. This is the pre-cursor to one of the biggest events of the spring. Thursday night, hundreds of people will graze over tapas from some of the best chefs in Charleston: all the while, sipping refreshing cocktails reminding them that summer isn’t over!

Also this fall, you may see camera crews following 7 gorgeous Charlestonians clad in the season’s best trends, hitting up the best restaurants, and maybe even stirring up a little drama. The Bravo hit “Southern Charm” started filming last week, and we hear this season may be the best one yet! You may even find yourself in the background of a scene if you’re in the right place at the right time.

If it’s culture you’re seeking, look no further than The Nuovo Cinema Italiano Film Festival happening in October at the Sottile Theater. Enjoy three days of riveting foreign films and red carpet appearances by some of Italy’s biggest film stars. Their mission is to showcase the best in contemporary Italian cinema, giving filmmakers an opportunity to shine and audiences a chance to see past the familiar sites and into the heart of Italy. Its October 6th through the 9th, so get dressed up, brush up on your Italiano, and be entertained!
