Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and Boston Police Commissioner
Michael Cox headlined this year’s El Mundo Boston Hispanic Heritage Breakfast that was on Friday,
September 20th. The event was from 7am-9:30am at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. The highly anticipated
event brought the area’s most influential leaders together to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month.
This annual tradition in Boston brings together a diverse range of thought leaders from the private and
public sectors in a joyous setting that features a unique format that includes humor, fun, and substance.
The Hispanic Heritage Breakfast is the “must attend” event of the month, as the top elected leaders in
Massachusetts engage in lighthearted – and often hilarious – commentary on the Latino community, its
contributions to the city and state, and their many lovable quirks. The 2024 Hispanic Heritage Breakfast
was dedicated to local Latino law enforcement officers and veterans. The event was sold-out and there
was more than 600 guests that attended the event.
The Hispanic Heritage Breakfast recognized local Latino heroes who have served our community as police
officers and defended our nation by serving in the U.S. military. The 2024 Hispanic Heritage Breakfast
Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Antonio “Tony” Molina, a Purple Heart recipient and former
Marine who served in Vietnam. Tony is currently serving as President of the Veterans Association of
Massachusetts and is a reconigzed trailblazer and leader in the community. Tony has been very active in
the community since arriving in Boston back in 1965 and has been President of the annual Puerto Rican
Festival and is a pioneer in Boston Spanish radio.
