Decking the Halls, with Elegance

Our friends at the Charleston Museum in Charleston, S.C., and the Garden Club of Charleston once again partnered to deck the halls in elegant early 19th century fashion. The museum and club again decorated the Joseph Manigault House, one of the most architecturally significant neo-classical homes in South Carolina. Architect Gabriel Manigault designed the home, which was completed in 1803, for his brother Joseph, a rice plantation owner and merchant, and his family. The house was also home to the Manigaults’ enslaved workers. The Charleston Museum purchased the house in 1933, and has preserved and interpreted it ever since. We arranged coverage of this decorative Christmas tradition, including this great piece from Palmetto Life on news station WCSC 5 Live.
