Hyannis is getting a lot of regional, national and international media attention right now as the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy is just days away. As most people know, Hyannis Port was the beloved home of President Kennedy and his family and it was the epicenter of their lives.

Pierce -Cote is involved with the events that will take place on November 22nd in Hyannis. Marci is working with the JFK Hyannis Museum Foundation on the press conference scheduled for 10:30 that morning at the Museum.  There will be many special local remembrances that day, including the ringing of all the church bells in Hyannis at the exact moment of the President’s death 50 years ago, and an ecumenical memorial service at St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis.

Rebecca co-founded the JFK Museum 20 years ago, and has been its curator since. The special exhibit this season is called “Days of Joy, Days of Sorrow” that highlights the President’s last summer on Cape Cod with his family, and then tells the story of the assassination through a Cape Cod lens. The agency worked on all the production of the graphics and displays.  The exhibit has been a huge success attracting thousands of visitors weekly. It ends on Thanksgiving.

We hope some of our Regan friends get a chance to come down and see the exhibit, visit the Museum, and maybe join us on November 22nd. Just be sure to bring tissues….

-Rebecca Pierce Merrick
