While everyone loves catching up with their best girlfriends over dinner and a cocktail, we all know it’s not the healthiest group activity – especially since it’s usually done instead of an after-work sweat session. To help women balance their fit lifestyles with their busy social calendars, Boston-based New Balance recently launched Girls’ Night Out. Girls all across the country can use the GNO MeetUp tool to plan their own perfect girls’ night out by finding group runs, creating new running routes, discovering new hangouts, and inviting friends to meet up for a run.
To kick off the initiative, New Balance has been hosting GNO celebrations this summer at their Boston and New York New Balance Experience Stores. Each event begins with a workout like a 5K or outdoor boot camp, then transforms into a party at the store with special guest speakers (past examples include SHAPE fitness editor Laurel Leicht and fitness expert Holly Perkins), healthy bites and cocktails, a live DJ, a photo booth, discounted shopping, and more! Does it get much better than this, ladies?
Stay tuned for more on upcoming GNO celebrations through https://www.nbgirlsnightout.com/. However, you can still join in on the Girls’ Night Out fun by creating your own girls’ night with GNO MeetUp anytime. As if a healthier version of a night out with your girls isn’t fun enough, women who sign up for GNO MeetUp can also enter to win the ultimate Girls’ Night Out experience: running the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon in November with three of your friends, all compliments of New Balance! The grand prize winner and three of her girlfriends will receive race entries, airfare & hotel accommodations, ground transportation, spa pampering, theme park tickets and New Balance gear. #Winning!
So, next time you and your girlfriends have plans to get drinks, invite them on a run using GNO MeetUp to get the party started? You’ll feel better about that drink (or two!) knowing you’ve gotten your workout in for the day. When you help re-define a Girls’ Night Out make sure to show it off on social media with the hashtag #NBGNO!
