Regan Communications has extensive experience in the sports and entertainment arenas. We have represented two of the pre-eminent names in sports and entertainment, the Boston Celtics and Mohegan Sun, for several years.
In these highly specialized and competitive industries, we provide a wide-ranging array of public and media relations services. For the Boston Celtics, who were recognized by the SportsBusiness Journal in 2009 as “Professional Sports Team of the Year,” our primary objective is to maximize awareness of the team’s community relations and sponsorship initiatives.
Our mission on behalf of Mohegan Sun, on the other hand, is to drive consumer traffic from New England and around the country by bringing attention to their celebrity and entertainment events, gaming options, new hotel and casino openings, incentive programs, and added amenities—all to position Mohegan Sun as strongly as possible as New England’s premier gaming and entertainment destination.
Regan Communications has helped develop and maximize awareness for dozens of other sports marketing initiatives. We’ve had Paul Pierce playing a game of W-A-F-F-L-E to promote a new breakfast sandwich, Jonathan Papelbon “pitching” to kids (in video game form) to spotlight a “Peel-and-Win” promotion, and Patriots star Wes Welker surprising a lucky customer by giving away a trip to a Pats-Dolphins game in Miami. In each case, our strategy has blended pre-event, day-of and post-event publicity components to go beyond the “one-day hit.”
We also provide publicity and event support for the David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic, Big Papi’s signature charity event in his native Dominican Republic. Our responsibilities include pre and post-publicity as well as on-site media relations and event management, all in the interest of spotlighting David’s excellent work raising money for his noble cause.
In addition to working with world-class entities like the Boston Celtics and Mohegan Sun, we have also worked on a number of seasonal and project-related initiatives in sports and entertainment, including integrated public relations and social media campaigns for the Red Sox documentary “Rooters: The Birth of Red Sox Nation”; the upcoming feature film about legendary baseball iconoclast Bill Lee, “Have Glove, Will Travel”; and the children’s novel “The Prince of Fenway Park” by best-selling author Julianna Baggott.
